This is the complete circular sequence, including the journey home. The Venice historic centre is explored on foot or by vaporetto after parking at Tronchetto.

Suggested day rhythm

A complete Venice day, with a different road home

  1. Borgo Botol

Leave early for the quietest drive towards the lagoon.

  2. Tronchetto parking

Park at the edge of Venice, where the road ends, then continue by vaporetto or on foot.

  3. Venice

Give the city a full day: begin around the Grand Canal and Rialto, continue through the quieter sestieri, and reach Piazza San Marco without treating the visit as a race.

  4. Tronchetto

Return to the car and begin the inland journey home.

  5. San Donà di Piave

Pause beside the Piave or continue directly, depending on the season and remaining daylight.

  6. Oderzo

Break the return journey with an aperitivo or dinner in the historic centre.

  7. Borgo Botol

Arrive back at the house and complete the circular journey.

Lunch recommendation

Let Venice set the pace

Choose lunch away from the busiest approaches to Piazza San Marco. Cannaregio, Castello and Dorsoduro offer quieter streets and more time to enjoy the city.

Opening hours, vaporetto services and parking availability change. Check them before departure.

Optional route choices

Adapt the day

  • Rialto and the Grand Canal
  • Piazza San Marco and the basilica
  • A quieter sestiere walk
  • Dinner in Oderzo
